For MEG

A community-led platform with the Hub at its centre

MEG is well placed to hold the baton for Digital Muirkirk as a community-led enabling project. The aim is not to absorb every organisation into one system, but to provide shared foundations, practical support and a visible local base for digital and community development.

Opportunity

A credible first step for the MEG Hub

A drop-in model can make the Hub feel useful from the start: a place to ask questions, find information, learn skills, support local enterprise and connect residents with groups.

  • Host digital help and skills sessions
  • Display local calendar and notice information
  • Support local enterprise and regeneration activity
  • Coordinate practical community infrastructure without overcentralising

Governance model

Hold the baton, keep the model proportionate

MEG's role can be framed around stewardship, convening, support and accountability. Every operational responsibility should be agreed clearly before being described as live.

Community-led stewardship

MEG can be positioned as a possible steward and enabling body, subject to agreement and clear governance.

Hub as the visible anchor

The Hub can make digital support tangible, approachable and locally rooted.

Modular rollout

Begin with visibility, calendar and support basics before adding more complex services.

No need to absorb everything

Governance can support local groups without taking over their data, identity or responsibilities.
